I don't want to go home for holiday break. I'd much rather stay at Hogwarts. It's not very fun at home, and mother makes me uncomfortable sometimes.

She says some really mean things, especially to my friends during my birthday. And to me, as well. It doesn't seem like the sort of thing a mother should do.

But she does love me. She's always telling me that. It makes me feel like an awful daughter that I don't want to go home to her, but at the same time, I'm starting to wonder if the trouble isn't with me.

I know how you feel. I hate staying at my house over the holiday, my parents never let me out of the house for any reason. They're just so paranoid that something's going to happen to me or I'll get sick, it's annoying!

Maybe you've got the right idea there, maybe our parents are just crazy.

My first mother, the one that actually is my mother-mother, strangled me so that my family could drive off a cliff and my second one-- well both of my parents I guess, seem to be rather strict on where I can go and what I should do. At least sorta.

I keep them happy by doing good grades. I don't want to let them down. I think they wanted me to be some awesome professor later on or something. That's just a hunch. But if they were here they'd flip out so bad that I'm around the lake so much and I'm friends or know so many people and Merlin knows what can happen to me. I make sure to not tell them the dangerous things that happen about...

Wow, that sounded really sort of creepy, but also a little like a fairytale, so I dunno.

But if you don't think that your mom would let you otherwise, and you maybe sort of wanted to spend the holiday with me, then I am totally agreeable to the idea of coming to get you in the middle of the night and we can run away to my house. Yes.

Oh Billy! Billy, yes, I would love to! And it did sound kind of creepy, but nothing you write could ever be that creepy. And I like fairytales. So it's all fine. Besides, it's sort of romantic. And definitely the only way I'd be able to visit you. And I really want to do that. But, I also really don't want you to get in trouble! I don't know what my mother would do to you if she caught you. But it would definitely be bad, and I'd hate for anything bad to happen to you.

...it's a pretty long story.
To put it short, I'm adopted. My adopted mother is wonderful! My real one is dead...but she..well, she wasn't a nice person at all.

My real mother was a Death Eater actually. She kept me under the Imperious Curse for a good portion of my life. Thankfully I don't remember an awful lot.
