I don't want to go home for holiday break. I'd much rather stay at Hogwarts. It's not very fun at home, and mother makes me uncomfortable sometimes.

She says some really mean things, especially to my friends during my birthday. And to me, as well. It doesn't seem like the sort of thing a mother should do.

But she does love me. She's always telling me that. It makes me feel like an awful daughter that I don't want to go home to her, but at the same time, I'm starting to wonder if the trouble isn't with me.

...it's a pretty long story.
To put it short, I'm adopted. My adopted mother is wonderful! My real one is dead...but she..well, she wasn't a nice person at all.

My real mother was a Death Eater actually. She kept me under the Imperious Curse for a good portion of my life. Thankfully I don't remember an awful lot.

I just...[ I just want you to know that if something feels off like that...it's best to trust your instincts.
If you've talked to your mother and she's blown you off or made you feel bad for questioning her or pointing out her bad behavior..that's not a good sign.
I-I don't want to sound like I know your situation exactly but I just want you to be careful.
You're a nice person and you don't deserve to be made to feel bad for wanting a life of your own.
